Founder’s Story

Meredith Lockwood is the founder of Lockwood Creative. As a global citizen with a diverse background, she has lived in cities ranging from Cincinnati to New York City, London, Kolkata, Amsterdam, and Portland. This cultural perspective, coupled with her experience founding Relevee, a socially conscious fine jewelry brand that provided socioeconomic pathways for incredibly talented jewelers in Kolkata who had overcome hardships, and co-founding unified sisters co/op, a women's antiracism nonprofit dedicated to equity and inclusion through education and community building.

Her purpose-driven entrepreneurial journey has instilled in her a deep understanding of the power of community and the importance of using creative talents to drive positive change.

Drawing inspiration from her father, Professor Bert B. Lockwood, an international human rights professor and lawyer, Meredith is committed to using her talents to drive positive change. Each venture has contributed significantly to the genesis of Lockwood Creative.

“As a female founder, I'm driven by a passion for empowering businesses and organizations through the power of creativity and community.”

Intercultural Connection. Human Rights. Environmentalism.

Meredith believes in the power of collective action and that when we come together, we can truly make a difference in the world for people and planet.

A few titles I wear with pride; social impact entrepreneur, fun auntie, chief joy creator, seasoned traveler, honorary Brit and Dutchie, bookworm, humanitarian, environmentalist, and avid snail mail sender.

  • In 2018, I was selected among 15 fellow global entrepreneurs to be part of the Global Social Benefit Institute co-hort to participate in their 6-month incubator.

  • My favorite design tool is Adobe’s Indesign. I know Photoshop and Illustrator are big fan favorites. I started learning the art of design in InDesign when I was 15 years old. A mix of nostalgia and loyalty perhaps!

  • I work on stolen lands of the Cowlitz, Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Tumwater, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Wasco, Molalla, and Watlala bands of the Chinook, and many other nations of the Nch'i Wána and pay my respects to the Elders both past, present, and future.
